Lazy Days and Friday......

Not feeling overly motivated to do anything today, or for this week really.  Sometimes I think it's just your bodies way of telling you to rest.....so I've been making the most of the quietness all this week long.

Today was just too hot really to do anything.  The temperature hit around 42c, I think that's around 107f.....and it's going to be like this off and on for the next 10 days apparently.  They say this could be the long hot Summer....who knows, but it sure is looking and feeling like it.

So today I just faffed around mostly indoors during the hottest part of the day....checked my balcony boxes, raced over to the beach early in the day for a quick photo for Jan photo a day.  Made the most delicious couscous for lunch, did a spot of reading, finished a hat, and then tonight walked around Albert Park Lake, fed the birds, took some photos.

It's still around 37c at 10.15pm.....I've just had the coolest bath, lathered myself in Aesop and I'm in for an early night.....it's been a lazy Friday.

Day 4.....The View From Here

The view from here a block away from where I live.....St Kilda Beach, not a sole around, except for mad dogs and Englishmen.

Taken this morning at 10.27am.....Temperature already 33.7c and reaching a top of 41c....madness!

Just Being.....

I picked up the knit sticks for the first time in what seems like weeks today.....Made myself a new little knitting nook.....padded bed box seat moved to the wall, feet up on the bed, all my bits and bobs next to me, windows open, sun streaming in, podcast playing and Audrey the super cat just looking for the best sun spots.

It's nice just being.......

Day 1....Today

Today and forever on I'm embracing vegetarianism.  I've been slowly gearing up to this for a full 12 months, slowly reducing the meat based meals and replacing them with vegetable matter as it's referred to around these parts.

So this is what was on offer for dinner tonight.  Chachouka, a spicy pepper and tomato stew with eggs baked in the dish, all served up with a green salad.  The recipe can be found here or in River Cottage Veg Everyday.....and it was delicious.

Happy New Year.....2013

Popped into say HNY to all of you.....and some of you are still waiting.  Well as far as I can see we're all still here......Fiscal Cliff and all!!
