Holidays

Can't believe that I have been at my full time job for 12 months.  It really does seem like yesterday when I started.  I am on annual leave at the moment, all 38 blissful days.....I decided not to go away this year, so 5.5 weeks at home is quite challenging but I have managed to fill in the first 3 weeks quite easily.

Cooking, cleaning, knitting, coffee with friends, dinner with friends, catching up with family both in the country and by the sea, going to see my football team play, exercising, sleeping.....lots and lots of sleeping, shopping.....lots of shopping, pattern writing and just generally enjoying not working.

I've put together a whole bunch of photos I've taken whilst on hols, some on my DSLR, some on my phone, some snatched from my Instagram account, some snatched from others on Facebook.....thank you Lamb Loves Fox and thank you Kris.

And if you are waiting patiently for Purdey pattern to come along.....your wait is going to be a little longer.  Kris who does all my desk top publishing for all of my patterns, had an early arrival.  Welcome to the world Pippa Mae.  Purdey has been put back till Kris is ready, and I think this little bundle of gorgeousness is a valid excuse, don't you?

I Spy With My Little Eye........

Audrey.....The Super Cat!!  Just hanging around....from time to time she appears in my blog, but not a lot....she likes to keep to herself, she's pretty aloof.

A bit has changed since this post.....2 years ago she wasn't allowed outdoors.....but a month or two ago, she got out.....snuck out the back door when I wasn't looking.....clearly the quickest she had ever moved in a long time, truth be told.   Anyway I didn't know about it, she was outside all night, opened the back door the next morning, and low and behold, there she was sitting on the mat, clearly annoyed and a little cheesed off but still in one piece!

So she goes out now, just sits on the back deck, never venturing more than a few steps down, just checking out the goings on around the place.....and when she's done she saunters back inside.....job done!

Hope you're all well, I'm reveling in a cool change weather wise.....it's changed enough to warrant a cardigan to be exact....Yipppeeee!!

Cat on a Hot Tiled Floor

It's been stinking hot here in Melbourne for the last few days. We are officially in Summer but the days had been beautiful and mild around 25c/77f......and in the space of a few days we've jumped to 40c/108f and I think it has thrown everyone for six.....we're into our third day of above 35c/99f temperatures....I hate the hot weather....and so does Audrey the super cat.

I really feel for furry animals on hot days, although Audrey has a knack of finding the coolest place to lie....yesterday I had the back door open slightly on the chain and she just lolled around there all day....just lying with the tiniest little breeze filtering through the door and under the door....she doesn't go outside, she's an indoor cat and I'm sure in her little head yesterday, she was very thankful for that.

Some things you should know about Audrey....She's a deliciously fat British Shorthair and she is about 16yrs of age.  She likes chewing plastic, fresh laundry, lying on knitting patterns, corn on the cob and ham.

She hates vacuum cleaners, other cats, fish flavoured cat food, rain and Coronation Street.

Day 3.
