Holidays

Can't believe that I have been at my full time job for 12 months.  It really does seem like yesterday when I started.  I am on annual leave at the moment, all 38 blissful days.....I decided not to go away this year, so 5.5 weeks at home is quite challenging but I have managed to fill in the first 3 weeks quite easily.

Cooking, cleaning, knitting, coffee with friends, dinner with friends, catching up with family both in the country and by the sea, going to see my football team play, exercising, sleeping.....lots and lots of sleeping, shopping.....lots of shopping, pattern writing and just generally enjoying not working.

I've put together a whole bunch of photos I've taken whilst on hols, some on my DSLR, some on my phone, some snatched from my Instagram account, some snatched from others on Facebook.....thank you Lamb Loves Fox and thank you Kris.

And if you are waiting patiently for Purdey pattern to come along.....your wait is going to be a little longer.  Kris who does all my desk top publishing for all of my patterns, had an early arrival.  Welcome to the world Pippa Mae.  Purdey has been put back till Kris is ready, and I think this little bundle of gorgeousness is a valid excuse, don't you?

Sweetness in all its forms......

Nothing changes around here....another couple of weeks have passed and I'm still plowing my way through the knitting.....I took on a few more orders so I'm knitting those, still trying to plow my way through a couple of cardigans for bubs and toddlers and all the while thinking of pretty Spring colours whilst eating date and nut loaf!

My pattern writing is coming along, but I think I've found a pattern forming if you'll pardon the pun.  As much as I have the notes all in order and all I have to do is the step by step photographs for the first pattern release.....I'm looking for any distraction to delay the process....I'm really nervous about my patterns.....Should I be?

Any way some lovely sweet photos of things that I made and made me smile this week, and last.

Date & Walnut loaf, super easy, super tasty, recipe here, gorgeous photographs of some of my work by Joy Wright Photography, website here and her Facebook page here.  Lovely Baby Cashmerino colours and a sweet cardigan I made.  I found the pattern book in my local charity shop and found a Ravelry page for the cardigan....I've added mine and you'll find it here.

Anyway sorry I've got to fly, next time I won't leave it so long.

Slow Days

Autumn has set in, and so have the slow days.....fast on the knitting, but slow on everything else.  It turns out I've had a low grade virus for a few weeks, which may explain a few things....sleeping a lot and not feeling much enthusiasm for anything else....so I've just tucked myself away, knitting like mad and watching re-runs of favourite DVD's.

I've been cooking up a storm, the big pots and slow cooker have been given a workout....stews, soups and casseroles, and hopefully all this good hearty food may have me ship, shape and shiny before I know it.

I've taken a few slow walks around the hood, a few blocks to the mail box, dropped off a hat parcel or two....and then ambled my way home with crunchy leaves under my feet.

I've been re-visiting some planned colour palettes I had stashed some time ago for a new blanket..... once the current WIP's are completed.  The end of May should see me finish up with the remainder of my hat orders, and then hopefully some "ready to ship" stock should happen in my Etsy store.....then I'll take a break to get those patterns written up....yes they are coming.

No other news around these parts...I think I like Slow Days....
