Hex Addiction.....
I'm seriously stuck on hexies at the moment.....there really is something very addictive about them. At long last I think I've found a project to keep for me, so this will be a large bed blanket.
I'm making single colour hexies and trying to stick with crisp clear colours that come from my stash. A mix of organic wool and Cascade 220. 10ply yarn on a 3.5 hook....trying to make the hexies quite tight and compact.
So I now understand where the term 'Hex Addiction' comes from.

I'm doing this same one at the moment, very similar colours too. I love how you can join as you go with this one. I've never been a fan of post joining - tedium. I guess I'm just a little bit impatient.
ReplyDeleteIsn't is great, I've had to just order a few other colours that I feel like I'm missing, especially purple and a hot pink.....we'll have to compare on completion!! I'm in no hurry to finish mine though. Join as you go, single colour....less work all round, have to agree!
DeleteI'm making a large bed blanket as well so i doubt I'll be finished any time soon. The baby blanket I made for my son took me a good six months (http://crochetlatte.com/2012/12/24/granny-love/). My problem is that I have too many projects going at once, I get bored too quickly so I'm always starting something new.
DeleteDitto!....lovely granny square as well.
DeleteOh my, you got me intrigued. I think I really need to start a hexagon blanket.... Love the colours of your last btw. I have a lot of that burnt orange Cashmerino but somehow it never seemed to fit in any colour concept, so thank you for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteYeah I have a bit of it as well.....goes well with all blues and greys, I was glad I could use some of it up. Look forward to seeing your hexie if you get one going. Vx
