Ho Hum......

Well yes....things have been a little ho hum around here.....I'm officially unemployed.  After the initial couple of days of blankness.....I've woken up out of that phase and moved on to the ..... "good things & positivity" phase.   I'm not going to dwell on the negatives and I'm looking at this time as time to enjoy dover & madden in a full time type of thingy!.....I've never had that luxury before, although I'm still finding it very hard to structure my days......I'm a huge procrastinator!

I will have to get another job at some stage, and hopefully it will be sooner rather than later, but my Uncle said to me...."Vic, I think it's time to get all of those knitting patterns done", so that is my goal for the remainder of the year.

I've been busy this week.....somehow it's managed to be full of pretty pastels.....don't know why, that's just how the wool ball has fallen and maybe it's a little bit mood based....feeling a little softer and lighter.....oh and hey, I've now managed to lose 10.5kg's or 23 pounds.  It's been a tough struggle, but I have around 6 kilos to go I think, or if I want to get down to the weight I was in my late 20's..another 9.....she says laughing and oh so smuggly.

Finley is being proof read as we speak.  All dependent on how things go, I think maybe releasing for sale this time next week.....just a bit of tweaking on the layout, and I do have to knit one more test hat, just to measure the amount of yarn that is needed, but hey, then we're good to go.

Hope your week hasn't been as drama filled as mine.

  1. I'm so sorry about your employment situation. I really hope everything works out! I love how crochet (or knitting) can be such a big help during hard times. Learning to crochet played a BIG BIG part in finally getting to quit smoking. I do wish you the best and I'm excited to see your upcoming works! Best of luck!

    1. Oh thanks so much for your kind words.....truth be told, I really wasn't happy there. When your job takes over your life and you can't find a way out, you do what you have to do, and I think it has all turned out ok....if I'm still un-employed in 12 months I might think differently!! I do agree any form of craft is therapy and I'm glad you too drew upon crochet to better your health, warmest wishes, Vx

    1. Thanks Leslie, I'm sure it will be. I take comfort in the fact that my craft can also provide me with a small income, so it's not all doom and gloom. kindest Vx

  3. Hi Vicky,
I'm glad you arrived in the positivity phase. ;-) I can understand it is difficult to give a new structure to you days now, but try to appreciate the extra time you have for Dover & Madden, without worrying about the future (easier said than done of course) - you're so talented!

    BTW ~ love the pictures!

    Take care, Haafner

    1. Thanks Haafner....really whats not uplifting about lovely squishy yarn!! I'm loving sitting on the sofa, just knitting repetitively, DVD's in the player, and not thinking about much else for now....A few weeks of nothingness might serve me well for the time being. Thanks for your kind thoughts, Vx

  4. So great that you are positive about the change, you will have so much more time for your knitting and I can't wait to get proficient enough at knitting to snap up all of your adorable hat patterns including the much anticipated Finley!
