Busy, Busy, Busy.....
Just about there, the pattern is nearly finalised.....a couple of hats back from my test knitters and they're perfect, so hopefully that means the pattern is perfect.
I'm doing some more knits myself, just checking off every size....although I know this pattern back to front and inside out.....but I still love seeing all the little sizes stacked up. These ones are heading of to the US to the fabulous photographer, Joy Wright.....I want some more scrumptious babies in Clovers to front my patterns.
I'm finishing off some blankets, taking first orders for the northern Winter and starting to size my second pattern.
Things are certainly busy, busy, busy.

Sweetness in all its forms......
Nothing changes around here....another couple of weeks have passed and I'm still plowing my way through the knitting.....I took on a few more orders so I'm knitting those, still trying to plow my way through a couple of cardigans for bubs and toddlers and all the while thinking of pretty Spring colours whilst eating date and nut loaf!
My pattern writing is coming along, but I think I've found a pattern forming if you'll pardon the pun. As much as I have the notes all in order and all I have to do is the step by step photographs for the first pattern release.....I'm looking for any distraction to delay the process....I'm really nervous about my patterns.....Should I be?
Any way some lovely sweet photos of things that I made and made me smile this week, and last.
Date & Walnut loaf, super easy, super tasty, recipe here, gorgeous photographs of some of my work by Joy Wright Photography, website here and her Facebook page here. Lovely Baby Cashmerino colours and a sweet cardigan I made. I found the pattern book in my local charity shop and found a Ravelry page for the cardigan....I've added mine and you'll find it here.
Anyway sorry I've got to fly, next time I won't leave it so long.

Pretty in Pinks....
dover & madden doesn't really do a lot of newborn hats....I sort of start most of my hats at around 3 months....I figure that fresh little NB's only lie around sleep, eat and cry, they don't need little wool hats on their heads just yet!!
I've been pressed for NB hats for photo props from Joy Wright and Denise Burridge so I thought I should get my fingers into gear. My perception of newborn heads is really out of whack, when I knitted these little hats I thought they were wayyyyy to small, so I did block them a little more than needed, but you live and learn.....at the end of the day babies only grow in one direction, and that's bigger!!
Delightful little photos that popped into my inbox this morning from Joy Wright Photography.
Hope your week was as good as mine.

Joy Wright Photography....Some New Pics
Joy Wright Photography in Hayden Alabama US, takes the most wonderful photos for me.....She sent some more photos my way this morning...I use these for Etsy, FB, here and postcards for promo use.
Joy found me a couple of years back through Etsy, we now have a mutual respect for each others work...she lives on one side of the world, and I the other, I send her hats, she photographs them just the way I want them, and it's a working relationship that works even though we have never met.....my little Norwegian hats, plenty of stretch and when tied under the chin very snug. This little cherub is wearing both a 3M to 6M, and then she is also sporting the 6M to 12M in the darker shades ....known to me as little LARS hats....cute as!
To find out more about Joy's work, take a look here. Thanks again Joy....Love your work!

It's A Numbers Game....
Hi Everyone,
I've decided to remove the "Dover & Madden" followers from the side of my page....I didn't have a huge amount of followers anyway, but I know I have a huge amount of readers which is just fantastic for a little blog that just bobs along about all things me....behind the scenes I can see that you all come from far and wide and I love that. It's a bit like Facebook....people just keep going on about the numbers and in my mind it's not a popularity poll. I'm just glad people stop and read every now and again, that's what is important.
I do find this blogging lark really hard... at the moment I'm finding it difficult to come up with content every couple of days.....but now that I'm starting a new casual job on Monday that fits in with my knitting world, in a different part of town out in the suburbs, it might be a bit more news worthy and I'll have a bit more free time!
Update on my Weight Watchers week....as I head into week 3. Weigh in last night and I lost 900 grams....just under 1 kilo, so my total loss in 2 weeks is 2.4kg....right on target. I haven't denied myself anything...and I mean anything. My diet is certainly healthier and I'm exercising more, and I'm less tired, so all of this is adding up to a good thing.
For those of you on Facebook....I'm doing a hat giveaway over on my FB page commencing tomorrow night (Sunday night in my parts). As it's coming into the Southern Hemisphere Winter....I thought it would be nice to kick off the cold weather with a free hat to someone lucky. The hat this time is a "Dottie" hat as pictured below....and it comes in 3 sizes ranging from 3M up to 24M, so stop by my d&m FB page....the link to my page is on the side of this blog and details will be up tomorrow night.
Things might be a little quiet around here whilst I settle into some sort of routine next week, but rest assured I'll be thinking about some blog posts whilst I'm away.

You Can Leave Your Hat On.......
I always get so excited when I receive a fresh batch of photos of little dover & madden hats.....I'm so lucky that Joy Wright found me....she approached me through Etsy and asked if she could photograph my hats.....she purchased her first hat and I was so impressed with her work that I asked her to photograph more....I think that was close to 18 months ago now, and she's still happily clicking away and I'm still happy to send her hats....it's a win win situation.
I'm happy just to have one shot of each hat I make...it just gives the buyer an idea of what the hat could look like on their child....and a good photo works wonders.
There are still some little boy hats on the way from Joy, once they arrive I'll share those to....but for now, here are a selection of photographs that arrived today....Hats featured are Silver Hilary, Turquoise Rio, Rhubarb Bonnie and Blue Check Ava.
Post note...Joy has told me that the little model is 12months old, but she is a little wee thing so her Mumma says...she's in a size 12M to 18M Hilary, a 4M to 10M Rio, 9M to 12M Bonnie and a 6M to 12M Ava....each hat does fit slightly differently, and my hats are always on the generous side for maximum use.
Thanks again Joy, you've captured my little hats just perfectly. All hats are available in my Etsy store...colors are always changing and being updated, so keep an eye out in the coming weeks.
